PARTICIPATION (Part 1)
We welcome individuals from all ethnic groups to be part of this peoples conference where people of like mind and heart with a sincere love for Malaysia come together to explore our common concerns and dialogue for solutions. A small contribution of RM10 per participant is requested to assist in covering costs*. The NCOI is wholly organized and sponsored by non-partisan civilian groups. PART 1: COMMON GROUND DIALOGUE THE CHALLENGE OF FORGING UNITY IN MALAYSIA (13TH MAY 2010)
This 5th National Congress on Integrity focuses on Unity in Malaysia. Since her inception, the Rukun Negara epitomises the ideal situation desired by all Malaysians of every ethnicity and creed. It is our national value statement.
THE RUKUN NEGARA Our nation, Malaysia, is being dedicated:
to achieve a greater unity of all her peoples; to maintain a democratic way of life; to create a just society in which the wealth of the nation shall be equitably shared; to ensure a liberal approach to her rich and diverse cultural traditions; and to build a progressive society which shall be oriented to modern science and technology;
We, her peoples, pledge our united efforts to attain these ends guided by these principles:
BELIEF IN GOD LOYALTY TO KING AND COUNTRY UPHOLDING THE CONSTITUTION RULE OF LAW GOOD BEHAVIOUR AND MORALITY
OBJECTIVE OF THE 5TH NCOI:
With the Rukun Negara as our ideal, this NCOI initiative is intended to delineate key challenges in forging unity in Malaysia or the Unity is Strength belief statement on our national crest.
KEY OUTCOMES OF THE NCOI
PART 1: COMMON GROUND DIALOGUE 13th May 2010 A prioritized list of not more than 5 key issues and challenges that need to be addressed for forging unity in Malaysia will be identified by the Common Ground Dialogue.
PART 2: THE NATIONAL CONGRESS ON UNITY 16th September 2010 The second part of the 5th NCOI will focus on the issues identified on the 13th May, and consider policy options for resolution and submission to Government. Click here to view details of Part 2
